Mercury medium pressure lamps offer a broad band emission in the UV- and visible light spectral from 200 nm to 600 nm and a high power density of around 100 W/cm2. Their strong UV radiation flux results in high penetration depth and efficient disinfection. This allows the design of compact UV disinfection plants. Their high UV intensity also makes them particularly suitable for photochemical processes. In the wavelength range around 200 nm the UV radiation produces OH-radicals from H2O2 which are used for the oxidation of organic materials.
Two lamp types are available:
- DQ lamps: Medium pressure lamps with high radiation output in the UVC spectrum, powerful disinfection action, spectral lines: from 200nm to 600nm
- QC lamps: Compact medium pressure UV lamps with increased output, compact design, good germicidal and oxidation action, spectral lines: from 200nm to 600nm
