Longlife Amalgam lamps are extremely long life, high power, low pressure lamps. They achieve up to ten times the UV power density of classical mercury low pressure lamps and can be used even at higher ambient temperatures of up to 90°C. Moreover, they are insensitive to temperature fluctuations.Longlife Coating
Their unique coating ensures that they do not suffer the unwanted transmission loss of quartz glass associated with conventional UV lamps. The result is a virtually constant disinfection action over the total operating life of the lamp. And up to 90 percent of the UVC output power is delivered for up to 16,0000 operating hours.
Great potential for savings
in number of lamps, system components, energy consumption and servicing intervals, thanks to their high power and long life. Amalgam lamps represent an economical alternative to medium pressure lamps on account of their high efficiency, long operating life and low operating costs. They save energy and generate very little heat. Our flyer gives a comparison of the economical efficiency of Amalgam lamps.
Ozone generating lamps
When synthetic quartz is used as lamp material, additional VUV radiation is emitted at a wavelength of 185 nm. By choosing the optimal combination of quartz material and lamp technology the UV output at 185 nm can be increased by a factor of 5 from that of a standard low pressure lamp.
The two lamp types at a glance:
- amalgam lamps with ten-times UV output, higher operating temperature up to 90°C, spectrum: line at 254 nm, ozone-free
- amalgam lamps with synthetic quartz tube, spectrum: lines at 254 nm and 185 nm, ozone-generating
