UVC radiation has an intense bactericidal effect. Micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria yeasts and fungi are killed in seconds without any need for chemicals. This is increasingly used to keep surfaces clean that come in contact with food: Filling equipment for milk products and drinks, conveyor belts, transport containers and working surfaces or the surface disinfection of foodstuffs. The use of aggressive chemicals can be minimized or even avoided which reduces the operating cost of the equipment.

With UV light, micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria, yeasts and fungi are inactivated in seconds without any need for chemicals. The packaging materials achieve a degree of purity that complies with the classification "Packaging materials with low germ content".
Heraeus offers complete BlueLight UV disinfection modules that have been specially developed for the food industry. The equipment achieves a reduction in germ count of more than 99.9%. They are easy to install and use on commercial machinery and provide a safe and economical cleaning.
