Low pressure emitters

Classic UV low pressure lamps have an excellent efficiency. 40% of the electric power can be used as 254 nm UV-C radiation for disinfection. If natural or synthetic quartz glass is used as lamp material, UV radiation at awavelength of 185 nm is emitted additionally for oxidation processes. Preferred applications of the UV low pressure lamps include disinfection of water, air and surfaces in the food and beverage industry and in waterworks, sewage works and air-conditioning plants.

Three lamp types are available with different lengths, bases and connections:
  • Classic mercury low pressure lamps with high efficiency, spectrum: line at 254 nm, ozone-free
  • Classic mercury low pressure lamps made of synthetic or natural quartz glass, spectrum: lines at 254 nm and 185 nm, ozone-generating
  • U-shaped mercury low pressure lamps provide higher output in a compact design size.
The lamps are also available as vacuum UV lamps (VUV), germicidal lamps (G-lamps) and UV immersion lamps (TNN).
