Miniature photoionisation (PID) lamps

Miniature photoionisation (PID) lamps
The smaller the lamp, the better the chances of achieving a successful compact instrument product. This simple truth has motivated Heraeus to design a PID lamp with half the diameter and half the length, whilst maintaining long life.

The main benefit of this design is not just the smaller lamp size itself, but its implications for the instrument designer. A more compact discharge source can have advantages relating to the RF drive circuit.  This can save  cost and space in the instrument.

Heraeus has the engineering capabilities to optimize such miniature PID lamps to run under certain conditions. These include RF frequencies and operational modes. Also lifetime can be improved by optimizing the lamp design for a specific instrument  design. With its recently upgraded manufacturing area, Heraeus has one of the  best equiped PID lamp production lines in the world.
