Heraeus Noblelight launches a 10.0 eV PID lamp which offers increased detection sensitivity in BTEX determination.

The use of a Heraeus 10.0 eV PID lamp can provide selective detection of BTEX compounds compared to a 10.6 eV lamp, and at increased sensitivity over a 9.6 eV lamp. Careful selection of materials and attachment of the CaF2 filter window is critical to produce consistent and high performance lamps. This lamp still maintains the high spectral purity and long life that is a feature of Heraeus PID lamps.

Sao Paulo, Brazil - the 11th edition of Analitica Latin America took place in Sao Paulo from the 20th to the 22nd of September 2011. Major companies in laboratory technology, biotechnology and quality control sectors participated in the event. Following the same concept already successfully previously applied to trade fairs in the Americas such as Pittcon, held in the USA, Heraeus Vectra do Brasil Ltda, a WC Heraeus joint venture and now Noblelight distributor and Heraeus Noblelight LLC presented their product lines together.

PID lamps are essentially a small discharge tube with an exit window. This window is made from a suitable medium to transmit the required vacuum ultra-violet photons which is needed for Photoionisation detection. Using a combination of window materials and filling gas, a number of tailored photon energy lamps can be manufactured for specific PID applications…

CoGDEM is the Council for Gas Detection and Environmental Monitoring and provides for the efficient organisation and development of the gas detection, gas analysis and environmental monitoring industry and to enhance the common interests.
